The Faces Behind Fiscal Fitness
Fiscal Fitness was born out of a passion to help individuals take control over their money, stop the worrying and reduce the stress so they can focus on other things. We strive to make every client who comes through our doors or contacts us know that they have the power to transform their lives and take control of their finances. What began as a side hustle for Kelsa almost a decade ago has grown into a business that helps hundreds of clients every year take the stress out of money.
Meet Kelsa Dickey, Owner and CEO
When I was a senior in high school, a college recruiter came to my school and asked me what I wanted to do with my life. I replied, “I want to help people with their money.” To which he replied, “You should become a financial advisor.”
I went to school and received a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, earned the appropriate licenses to practice as a financial advisor (Series 7 and 66 and Health, Life and Disability) then did so for 3 years. It was as a financial advisor that I realized something: There are a lot of people who need help with today’s finances, not tomorrow’s. Financial advisors help you plan long-term, but what about the bill you just received in the mail today?
I went back to school, earned my MBA, and began working in Corporate Finance & Accounting for the next 7 years. During that time, I would help friends and family with managing their money and discovered it was still my passion.
Eventually it got to the point where every day after work and all day on Saturdays I was helping people with budgeting!
When I told my friends and family I was going to become a financial coach full-time, just about everyone said the same thing: “It’s about time.”
People knew long before I did that this was what I was meant to do.
Meet Jill Emanuel, Lead Financial Coach
Meet Michael Dickey, Owner and Director of Corporate Training
Michael is a self-proclaimed “spender” but experienced first hand the profound impact budgeting, goal-setting, and financial organization can have on our lives. After getting trained and practicing for 15 years as a Certified Athletic Trainer, he began to immerse himself in financial knowledge – both technical expertise and behavioral insights. Michael leads our Corporate division – teaching small and large groups of employees “how to do all this money stuff”. His passion is in showing employers just how easy and beneficial it can be for them to truly support their employees in financial education and empowerment.
Michael is also the executive producer and host of The Saver and The Spender Podcast.
Meet Sheri Gundlach
Sheri started as a client of Kelsa’s, and after experiencing her own financial transformation, knew she wanted to be a part of it. Fast forward 6 years, and Sheri is an integral part of the Fiscal Fitness team. Her life-long experience as a social worker, coupled with her passion to raise her three sons to be amazing men, has made her the perfect Financial Coach for all of our Young Adults. Sheri is able to get to the heart of what matters most to these individuals, so learning financial concepts doesn’t feel so dreadful.
Carmen is the perfect blend of both her daddy and mommy. She’s laid back like her dad, but a bit of a determined, perfectionist like her mom. And she’s full of life, like them both. She currently loves Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig as well as her two dogs, Nikki and Storm. She also loves popsicles from the ice cream truck, swimming, reading books, painting and coloring and being chased around the house by anyone. She is the reason her mommy and daddy work so hard and the main reason they like to step away from the office. She makes appearances at Fiscal Fitness so be on the lookout for this spunky toddler.
