Jill Emanuel is the lead financial coach at Fiscal Fitness Phoenix and has an inspiring story about how she and her husband pulled themselves out of being hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and on the verge of bankruptcy. They were Fiscal Fitness clients for 5 years while they paid off their debt and found financial freedom. Then Jill realized she wanted other people to feel the same way about their finances that she did and decided to become a financial coach. (Kelsa interviewed here about this in Episode 30 of The Saver and the Spender.)
In today’s episode, Jill talks about how married couples (or couples that share their finances) can get on the same page. There can be no more fights, your stress level can go down, everyone’s needs can be met and your budget becomes an afterthought.
Since finances are one of, if not the leading causes of divorce, finding some simple solutions to have open communication between spouses, without judgment, is super important. Jill has some great ideas, tips, and tricks to help you and your spouse do just that.
You not only need to know what bills are being paid when, but you need to have some sort of unified vision of what’s happening with your money.
